About our owners.

Elsa comes from esteemed culinary pair Sean Marshall and Kristina Jensen, who have traversed top kitchens around the world from five-star hotels to chef-hatted establishments and award-winning restaurants. Upon settling in Perth with their family, they transformed Wembley institution Cambridge Corner Store before founding Elsa in Fremantle.

Honest simplicity, thoughtfully prepared.

Scandinavian cooking is rooted in honest simplicity — it celebrates seasonal ingredients, treated thoughtfully and allowed to shine. This cuisine is shaped by the region’s climate, with long winters and brief summers, coastal larders and forest stores, and generations of home cooks who believed the best food should nourish and bring joy.

Made from scratch, with care.

At Elsa, we bring this tradition to life in every dish. Enjoy irresistible brunch classics made entirely from scratch, alongside smørrebrød — Denmark’s famous open-faced rye sandwiches — and house-cured gravad lax, prepared in the Nordic style with dill, salt and patience. Our pastries draw from the region’s rich baking heritage, featuring cardamom, rye and hearty grains in everything from breakfast rolls to afternoon cakes. From our kitchen to your plate.

A place to slow down and savour.

Nestled within Fremantle’s beloved High Street Mall, Elsa’s dining room is a warm, light-filled space designed for lingering. Lush greenery, timber details and the gentle hum of a busy kitchen set the scene for long breakfasts, lazy brunches and afternoon coffees that stretch well past the hour. Whether you’re catching up with friends, bringing the family, or simply treating yourself to a quiet morning — there’s always a seat at Elsa’s table.
